Notes When Using addlikeconstraint Tag with MSSQL and Asset Attribute with Type "ntext" (Doc ID 1427853.1)

Last updated on MAY 26, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Sites - Version 7.5.0 to 7.6.1 [Release FatWire]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We have a searchstate with various constraints, one of them of type addlikeconstraint. When this constraint is applied to an asset attributte of type "string" everything works fine, but when applied to an asset attribute of type "ntext" throws an com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException when query is executed.

Is this a known issue?

The exception message is:
"ntext data type is not valid as argument 1 of lower function"

(MSSQL - Unicode enabled data types)
