Last updated on JANUARY 05, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to perform a portlet mode edit on a JSR 286 or WSRP taskflow (i.e. personalization) the action times out with a timeout exception displayed in the UI and Spaces diagnostic log.
This can be reproduced with any JSR 286/WSRP task flow created in JDeveloper after the producer is registered and the task flow is added to a page.

Messages similar to the following can be found in the Spaces diagnostic log:

[WC_Spaces1] [ERROR] [] [oracle.portlet.binding] [tid: [ACTIVE].ExecuteThread: '4' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'] [userId: <USERID>] [ecid: <ECID>] [APP: webcenter#11.1.1.4.0] oracle.portlet.client.container.PortletTimeoutException: java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException[[
