Can A Public User Post A Comment To A Blog? (Doc ID 1444435.1)

Last updated on MAY 31, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The public user is unable to post comments to a blog in an 11.1.1.5 WebCenter Portal installation.

1. When I am logged in as weblogic, I can 'like' a blog post and add a comment.
2. When I am not logged in, it looks like I can write a comment, but there is no space to do so, and clicking on the 'Write a comment' link does nothing.
3. When I am not logged in, I can try to 'like' but I see an error -- An unexpected error occurred while posting a Like.
4. When I am not logged in, I can try to add a blog post but nothing happens - I write a comment and click PUBLISH and something seems to submit, but nothing happens.

According to this documentation it should be possible:
Oracle Fusion Middleware User's Guide for Oracle WebCenter Spaces
48 Working with Blogs

"Note: A user with view-only permissions can add comments to a blog post."
======

Is there any way that a non-logged in user can log comments on blogs, as all 3rd party blogs allow to do?
