Is Disabling MKTHREADS For Tuxedo GWTDOMAIN Images On OpenVMS Itanium A Supported Configuration? (Doc ID 1454367.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Tuxedo - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
HP OpenVMS Itanium

Goal

The GWTDOMAIN image is multithreaded, and by default uses HP OpenVMS Kernel thread services. Significant performance gain can be captured by configuring the image to use pthreads threading, instead.
This can be done with the following command: $SET IMAGE/FLAG=(NOMKTHREADS)

If an image is linked and configured to use kernel threads by default, but one forces pthreads use by a SET IMAGE/FLAGS command, is this a supported configuration?
