A new client host using JDBC 188.8.131.52 was added to a set of other existing client hosts for connection to an Oracle 10.2.0.5 RAC database. After running successfully for a while, the following errors started to be seen:
java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: IO Error: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
Caused by: java.net.UnknownHostException: <host.domain>
The problem is limited to the new client - other hosts work fine, and batches that run fine on other hosts fail on the new host. No problems have been seen on the database.
