Unable To View Non-ASCII Chracters In Audit Trail (Doc ID 1457613.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When a BPEL variable, be it either a simple string or an XML message, contains non-printable ASCII characters, these cannot be viewed in the AuditTrail.

When clicking on the "+" icon in the Audit Trail view, the icon just turns to a "-" and an empty line is shown.

This non-printable ASCII content can only be viewed in the Raw XML View which shows the non-printable ASCII characters as per the XML standard, e.g. ``&#<num>;´´ (w/o the quotes) where <num> is the number of that character in the ASCII table.

Is there a way to show the non-printable ASCII content in the Audit Trail without accessing the raw XML?
