A JMS Text Message Of More Than 2000 Characters Sent With The 11i Version of AQAPI Cannot Be Read By The 10i Version (Doc ID 1463092.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 16, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a JMS text message (javax.jms.TextMessage) larger than 2000 characters is posted to an Oracle AQ destination, using an application running under any application server that provides an 11i version of the AQ API (e.g., WebLogic Server 11i), the message cannot be read correctly by anything that provides a 10g version of AQAPI. The text message will be found to have a null message body.

Changes

The problem may be seen when part of an installation is upgraded from a 10g version to an 11g version, leaving other parts at 10g.
