Symptoms
Tuxedo 11gR1PS1 workstation client application, on OpenVMS, is failing to connect to a NonStop Tuxedo 8.0 workstation listener/handler.
Tuxedo GP_CAT and LIBWSC_CAT errors in client output when starting up workstation client application.
Output, with TMTRACE turned on, shows that tpchkauth() is being executed by the application when errors occur.
143843.TuxMachineName!?proc.xxxx.2070294208.-2: GP_CAT:1317: ERROR: Invalid attempt to use 40-bit or 56-bit encryption
143843.TuxMachineName!?proc.xxxx.2070294208.-2: GP_CAT:1116: ERROR: Can't open socket.
143843.TuxMachineName!?proc.xxxx.2070294208.-2: LIBWSC_CAT:1055: ERROR: Unable to establish WSL connection
143843.TuxMachineName!?proc.xxxx.2070294208.-2: LIBWSC_CAT:1027: ERROR: Unable to connect to WSH
143843.TuxMachineName!?proc.xxxx.2070294208.-2: TRACE:at: } tpchkauth = -1 [tperrno TPESYSTEM]
The appearance is that an encryption negotiation failure is occurring but the connection is never made and no encryption level information from the remote WSL/WSH could have been received.
Changes
Migrated application from Tuxedo 6.5 on OpenVMS 7.3 Alpha to Tuxedo 11gR1 on OpenVMS 8.3 Itanium
