REP-50504 is thrown even though Reports Server is up and running in 11g Reports (Doc ID 1468031.1)

Symptoms

The reports server is very much up and running. However, issuing rwdiag.sh does not list the reports server

Run $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/reports/bin/rwdiag.sh -find <repserver>



Reading the rwnetwork.conf from $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/ReportsToolsComponent/ReportsTools/rwnetwork.conf
Broadcast mechanism used to locate servers
------------------------------------------
Channel address = 228.5.6.7
Channel port = 14021

REP-50504 '<repserver>' not found in the network
