Oracle Traffic Director Is Not Handling OpenAM Redirect (Doc ID 1468811.1)

On Oracle Traffic Director (OTD) version version,  redirects for the OpenAM application is getting redirected from HTTP to HTTPS over and over again.

The setup is as follows:

Client <--> Big IP <--> 3 Apache Servers with mod_proxy <--> OTD <--> backend WebLogic Server running OpenAM application


  • SSL is enabled on the 3 Apache Servers
  • OTD is running non-SSL
  • backend WebLogic Server is running non-SSL

The livehttpheaders output shows:


GET /openam/UI/Login HTTP/1.1
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0
