User Personalisation Setting "default Result Count" Is Not Properly Evaluated (Doc ID 1472870.1)

Symptoms

The number of results returned should be consistent with the users setting if they use the Quick Search and/or the main Search options. If however the user has the side-bar menus opened (Layout = "Trays" )  and selects the search criteria from there then we found a BUG that the number of results is NOT honoured and defaults back to 20

If the user performs the search from the "Quick Search" ( top right ) or the Search drop down ( top left) then the setting is honoured. If the user performs a search from the "Search" option in the Trays side menu then the default of 20 results per page is returned.
