Symptoms

Oracle Service Bus (OSB) is acting as a client of an external Web Service over HTTPS (SSL), via WLS Proxy Server. Everything in the OSB/WebLogic security configuration looks fine - the SSL handshake in the logs shows no problem. From the server side, where the Web Service is hosted, request is received correctly, and a response is returned. But that response never comes back, rather a NullPointerException. In the OSB debug trace you can see:

 You will be able to get the response properly when using SOAP UI. The WLS logs doesn't show any additional information. SSLDebug has been enabled and everything looks fine in the SSL traces.
