Identity Synchronization For Windows 6.0 or greater (ODSEE 6.x, 7.x and 11.x)
When attempting to remove an attribute from the list of synchronized attributes in the ISW java console, upon attempting to "save" the configuration, the ISW configuration analysis comes back with an error (as well as underlying exceptions in the logging). At this point it is not possible to remove any attribute from the synchronization configuration.
the following error appears in /var/opt/SUNWisw/logs/central/error.log
The issue is rare, but when it takes place can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Create ISW configuration in the java console
2. Save Configuration
3. Attempt to modify configuration by removing attribute in the java console
4. Observe failure of config check error in attempt to save and logged exception.
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, configuration can not be modified, preventing changes to the ISW synchronization rules.
ISW is sensitive to changes in the named Directory Server and Active Directory targets defined in the connectors. ISW will fail to enter a syncing state if any defined node is missing or offline. Changes to the PDC or FSMO Role provider will force ISW administrators to work through the procedure describe in the "known issues" section of the ISW 6.0 SP1 Release notes at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20295_01/html/e27423/bugs-limitations.htm#CJADIHCC
