Exception In DoEndTag() In Tag Com.openmarket.xcelerate.jsp.asset.GetSiteNode (Doc ID 1485896.1)

Symptoms

The following error is seen in the logs 

Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.openmarket.xcelerate.asset.Page.GetSiteNodeId(y:548)
at com.openmarket.xcelerate.jsp.asset.GetSiteNode.doEndTag(y:2162)
at com.openmarket.framework.jsp.Base.doEndTag(y:32)
at org.apache.jsp.jsp.cs_005fdeployed.A.B_jsp._jspx_meth_asset_005fgetsitenode_005f0(B_jsp.java:1402)

what does it mean and how can it be fixed?

Also, when using the Contributor UI in 11g, if a SitePlanTree record is missing and you try to delete the Page asset, this error is seen:

com.fatwire.services.exception.ServiceException: com.fatwire.services.exception.TagsException: Error: SitePlanDispatcher.NodePath() no object named node pagename:null Errno :-10005
