Running RCU In Silent Mode through SSH Putty Client seems hung but it is expecting a parameter (Doc ID 1488281.1)

Last updated on JULY 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Fusion Middleware - Version 11.1.1.2.0 and later
Generic Windows
Using Putty Client

Symptoms

The Repository Creation Utility ( RCU ) 11.1.1.x or 12.1.2.x through a SSH client (putty) in run silent mode with the option to introduce any parameter like password using putty.  But instead of getting the parameter prompt  (in this case the password) the cursor starts to eat all the above characters in the putty window until leave it blank. As a result it seems to be hung, but really it is expecting the parameter to be introduced but it is not showed in the screen. If the parameter is typed the same behavior occurs if there is another parameter needed causing the RCU session wait for something but the user cannot see what it is expected.

./rcu -silent -createRepository -databaseType ORACLE -connectString localhost:1521:XE -dbUser sys -dbRole sysdba -schemaPrefix TTT -component IAU
