Error when Trying to Connect to Data Interfaces in Oracle Enterprise Data Quality 9.x (EDQ) (Doc ID 1492631.1)

Problems with connections to data interfaces after upgrading Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ) from Version 8 to Version 9 or above.
This occurs for existing projects and new test projects.
The following error message is displayed (note - this is an example screenshot; that the Task and Reader interface will be different for your solution)

The following is an extract from the main0.log after trying to run a process with only 1 reader connecting through a simple data interface to a data store. If the reader is reconfigured to run directly from the data store no such issue occurs:
