ORACLE HTTP Server 11.1.1.6 Throws HTTP 400 Randomly (Doc ID 1493054.1)

Last updated on JUNE 03, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle HTTP Server - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer is getting sporadic http 400 Bad Request errors while proxying from OHS --> WLS with mod_wl_ohs.so (or Apache or Iplanet plugin mod_wl.so.  NOTE, there are different patches for each of the plugins listed, so users need to be sure which one applies to their system.  Note also that sporadic http 500 Internal Server Error errors have been reported due to this as well.)

To diagnose this issue, need to get a debug file from the plugin.  For mod_wl_ohs for example, set debug ALL for the "shopping cart" location by modifying mod_wl_ohs.conf file:

a. Make a backup of the file you're about to edit first.

b. Make the changes identified below with the <--- add tag
