DIPCA Fails with LDAP Error 53 while applying 10.1.4.3 Patchset (Doc ID 1495052.1)

Symptoms

While applying 10.1.4.3 patchset, DIPCA fails. Installation log shows the following

 

Launched configuration assistant 'Directory Integration Platform Configuration Assistant'
Tool type is: Recommended.
The command being spawned is: '/<ORACLE_HOME_PATH>/bin/oidca mode=DIPPATCH oidhost=<OID_HOSTNAME> sslport=<OID_SSL_PORT> sudn=cn=orcladmin supwd=xxxxxx odspwd=xxxxxx connstr=<OID_DB> iasinstance=<INSTANCE_NAME> iaspwd=xxxxx -silent -crypto'

Start output from spawned process:

De-Registering DIP.
Error deleting registration entry.
See the following log file in the current directory for details: odisrvreg.err

End output from spawned process.

Configuration assistant "Directory Integration Platform Configuration Assistant" failed

 Any ldapmodify operation fails with error "ldap_modify: Constraint violation"

 Following error is seen in the oidldapd log file
