External Users as Workflow Approvers Not Yet Available in System (Doc ID 1497209.1)

Goal

When using Active Directory/External LDAP for user authentication and a custom workflow that allows contributors to enter a username as approver, a situation may arise when the entered user has not yet logged into the content server.  When WebCenter Content attempts to send a Workflow Email notification to the named approver, the user's email id is not available because the user has never logged into WebCenter Content. Thus the e-mail is never delivered.

Is there a way to work around this, e.g. populate email id's of all users who exist in Active Directory/External LDAP?
