Report Server Printout Ignores Printer Driver Settings Such As Paper Size, Tray, Orientation, Print Quality Etc...
(Doc ID 1499063.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Reports Developer - Version 11.1.1.1.0 and laterMicrosoft Windows (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows x64 (64-bit)
Symptoms
On a MS Windows machine, using Notepad -or even rwrun and DESTYPE=PRINTER- the printer driver settings (such as paper source, size, type, orientation etc... set by following Printer Driver Properties --> General --> Printing Preferences...) are taken fine into account.
But when using a report server (same machine and same printer), the driver settings are ignored.
Possible symptoms also include a character-mode report printed, by the report server, as bitmap on a dot-matrix printer. (as consequence of Printing Quality settings in the printer driver being ignored.)
Changes
Configuring a printer driver.
