Symptoms
Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) scenarios started via XML SOAP envelop calling OdiStartScenRequest only apply zero or one variable at execution. If the Scenario has two or more variables, only the first one provided is in use, and the rest of the variables are ignored.
The manifestation of the issue could vary, ie:
- If the variables have a default value, the default will be used by the Scenario. There is no error at execution time, but the result incorrect.
- Or, a NULL will be set if there is no default value, and then caught during the execution.
This behavior makes it complicated to identify and even notice the issue, as the Scenarios could execute with no error from start to finish.
