How can JMS Client Application Recover When WebLogic Server is Down/Stuck

A JMS client connects to WebLogic server to send JMS messages. However, when the server is down or stuck, the client is stuck.
Is there a way in WebLogic to have the timeout on the client side when sending the message to the JMS server? So that when the server is down or hung, the client can recover from it.
