UCM and WebLogic Became Unaccessible After Checking in PDF file Containing a Digital Signature. This Error is seen in the UCM Logs: Java.lang.OutOfMemoryError (Doc ID 1504701.1)

Symptoms

On : 11.1.1.5.0 version, Content Server

When attempting to access the content server or the WLS admin page after checking in a PDF file containing six or more digital signatures, performance is slow to the point of inaccessibility and the following error occurs:

 


STEPS
-----------------------
1. With the DesktopTag Component enabled, check in a PDF file containing six or more digital signatures to the content server

2. As the file checks in, memory usage increases using up all of the memory allocated in the java heap until the content server becomes unresponsive and requires a restart to clear the memory. 

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot reliably use the content server
