Symptoms

1/ On Oracle Traffic Director 11.1.1.6 when using the administration console and making some admin-server configuration changes such as changing the otd_admin password. upon trying to restart the server the admin-server is unable to restart. When trying from the command line, the following error is encountered:

 [root@test01cn01 bin]# ./stopserv
server not running

The 'ps -ef |grep traffic' output showed the server is running:

[root@test01cn01 otd]# ps -ef | grep otd
root 24063 1 0 Oct25 ? 00:00:01 trafficd-wdog -d /u01/app/otd/instances/otd/admin/admin-server/config -r /opt/oracle/product/11.1.1/trafficdirector_Home_1 -t /tmp/admin-server-835207fa -u root
root 24064 24063 0 Oct25 ? 00:08:16 trafficd -d /u01/app/otd/instances/otd/admin/admin-server/config -r /opt/oracle/product/11.1.1/trafficdirector_Home_1 -t /tmp/admin-server-835207fa -u root
root 24065 24064 0 Oct25 ? 00:32:02 trafficd -d /u01/app/otd/instances/otd/admin/admin-server/config -r /opt/oracle/product/11.1.1/trafficdirector_Home_1 -t /tmp/admin-server-835207fa -u root

2/ The other symptom is that the admin console shows status as "Instance Not Running" when it is actually running ?

(ps -ef | grep trafficd will show it is running)
