Receive an ORA-01407 Error when Performing an Index Rebuild After Upgrading WebCenter Content (Doc ID 1510738.1)

Symptoms

After performing an upgrade of WebCenter Content 11g, the system alerts you that "Index Collection needs to be synchronized, a full collection rebuild is required. Please rebuild the index collection."

On performing a rebuild, it runs for a period of time, and then stops, reporting one or more of the following errors in the log:

An error occurred during indexing.

Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01407: cannot update ("UCMP_OCS"."IDCTEXT1"."DDOCNAME") to NULL

Changes

System may have just been upgraded between 11g versions.
