Loss Of Connectivity With OVD 11g / OVD Process Gets Killed Or Goes Into A "Stop" Status / Log Error: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: Received fatal alert: bad_certificate (Doc ID 1511505.1)

Symptoms

The log message below is logged for one ECID multiple times per second in the Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) 11g log, i.e., 11.1.1.6, while connection is lost with OVD and the OVD process gets killed. And very often the OVD process goes into a "Stop" status and requires restarting, sometimes more than once to correct the problem.
