'HTTP 401 Authentication Required' Message From OAM 11g - OEG Integration (Doc ID 1513298.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 07, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle API Gateway - Version 11.1.1.5.0 to 11.1.1.6.1 [Release 11gR1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When an attempt is made to integrate Oracle Enterprise Gateway (OEG) 11g with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) 11g, the end goal is to configure the Gateway to authenticate and authorize web services via OAM.  To achieve this goal, there is a document which explains the setup process:

All the steps have been followed to Section 4 of the document.  As per step 7 of Section 4, there seems to be no 'HTTP Authentication" tab under the "security" tab of OEG Service Explorer to enter the necessary credentials and proceed further.

When ignoring this step, 'HTTP 401 Authentication Required' is the message returned when sending the request to test the web service in OEG Service Explorer.
