Configuring Identity Store in OID 11g With Command "idmConfigTool.sh -preConfigIDStore" Fails With Error: "User Search Base does not exist" (Doc ID 1515035.1)

Symptoms

 The idmConfigTool fails to create user store using -preConfigIDStore parameter.

Using two different documents:

Trying to populate a second Oracle Internet Directory (OID) ldap directory with the user and group directories with command:

 

The error seems redundant because, of course, those containers do not yet exist.  The command is suppose to be creating them to begin with.


The actual doc section that indicates the command will create the stores is Section 2.3.1 on page 2-3 in the table for "preConfigIDStore":

 Chapter 2 Using the idmConfigTool Command
    Section 2.3.1 Command Syntax

Which contains a table with the following:

Command               Component name       Description
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
preConfigIDStore      Identity Store       Configures the identity store and policy store by creating the groups and setting ACIs to the various containers.



As noted, this states "Configures the identity store and policy store by creating the groups and setting ACI's to various containers."
