How To Differentiate the Same User in Multiple or Child AD Domains (Active Directory) (Doc ID 1522760.1)

Last updated on APRIL 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Users from multiple Active Directory domains require access to the WebCenter Content (WCC) server.

That is no issue since the WCC Domain can be configured to authorize users from multiple Active Directory servers, and users can be within a child AD domain of a parent AD domain (accessed by a single WCC Domain provider).

However, if each AD domain contains users with the same name, then the user authenticating into the WCC may not get the roles and accounts they expect.

This Note will give an example of how AD providers can be configured to differentiate between the multiple domains.
