NULLPOINTEREXCEPTION When Using STATEFUL-TIMEOUT For EJB (Doc ID 1532369.1)

Symptoms

When stateful-timeout is configured inside ejb-jar.xml (stateful-timeout was introduced as part of ejb 3.1),
  

 
 
a NullPointerException (NPE) is received:

java.lang.NullPointerException
  at weblogic.ejb.container.cache.NRUCache.enforceStatefulTimeout(NRUCache.java:840)
  at weblogic.ejb.container.cache.NRUCache.scrubCache(NRUCache.java:483)
  at weblogic.ejb.container.cache.NRUCache.cacheScrubber(NRUCache.java:410)
  at weblogic.ejb.container.cache.BaseCache.timerExpired(BaseCache.java:234)
  at weblogic.timers.internal.TimerImpl.run(TimerImpl.java:293)
  at weblogic.work.SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl$WorkAdapterImpl.run(SelfTuningWorkManagerImpl.java:545)
  at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.execute(ExecuteThread.java:256)
  at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:221)
