Last updated on APRIL 23, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 11.1.2.0.0 and later
Oracle Forms for OCI - Version 12.2.1.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

During installation of 11gR2,  there is an option to select from one of the two available configurations :

  1. Configure for Deployment
  2. Configure for Development

If you select "Configure for Development" and choose that Forms Builder should be installed, then the installer will create an frmbld.sh in the <ORACLE_INSTANCE>/bin directory.

This is how Forms Builder should be run from a LINUX/UNIX installation. For example, <ORACLE_INSTANCE>/bin/frmbld.sh.

However, if you select "Configure for Deployment" during installation and do not choose Forms Builder, then there will be no <ORACLE_INSTANCE>/bin/frmbld.sh.
