Applies to:
Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.0 to 10.3.3Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
When running a WebLogic Managed Server the file.encoding system property is being set to ANSI_X3.4-1968 instead of the system default of UTF-8.
When WLS server is started using the default scripts, file encoding is taking the correct value.
Consider the folllwing test case:
- Start the node manager.
For this particular run, see nodemanager.properties and check the following properties:
- Restart the node manager.
- Start the WLS managed server from the admin console, the server start up log shows file.encoding as ANSI_X3.4-1968
Possible Solution: Setting the attribute -Dfile.encoding in the server startup script.
