Browser reloads constantly after login through a loadbalancer (Doc ID 1544550.1)

Symptoms

We have a clustered editorial environment with a loadbalancer in front. If we try to login to Admin UI through the loadbalancer and get a ticket from the secondary cluster member, then the browser goes into an infinite loop reloading again and again, at the point at which the tree applet loads. When logging in through the loadbalancer and getting a ticket on the primary cluster member, there is no issue - the Admin UI and tree applet load fine.
