Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g.

Running remtool command fails with, for example:

$ remtool -presetpwd
Enter supplier directory details:
Enter hostname of host running OID server : oidhost.mycompany.com

Enter port on which OID server is listening : 3060

Enter superuser DN : cn=orcladmin

Enter superuser password :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Set ORACLE_SID environment variable to SID of database with which ldap://oidhost.mycompany.com:3060 (oidhost_orcl) is associated.

Or:

$ ./remtool -pchgwalpwd -v -bind myoidhost:389
Enter replication dn password :
