SOA 11g Enterprise Deployment: Troubleshooting Connectivity Issues (Doc ID 1554318.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 08, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version 11.1.1.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This document shows some tips and tricks to troubleshoot connection or connectivity issues in an enterprise environment which uses different tiers like a web tier, an application tier and a core tier for the database and LDAP instances. Between those tiers,  firewalls are usually set up which close down all ports except those which are used by the different tiers. Additionally, load balancers will be used to ensure high availability and failover.

If either the firewall or the load balancers are not configured correctly, this may cause connectivity issues or connection errors in different situations. This document will show some tips and tricks how to identify the root cause, i.e. to find where a configuration may be incorrect leading to the problem.
