Changes in the Behavior of APEX Image Prefix After Upgrade to 4.2.2

Goal
After upgrading to APEX 4.2.2, two differences are noted:
In the output for the apex_verify.sql the Images Directory section shows blanks / nulls. Previously, this reflected the Instance Image Prefix (typically /i/).
The application prefix in Edit Application Properties > User Interface, the Image Prefix contained an actual value (typically /i/). Now this value is blank / null in 4.2.2.
Otherwise, the APEX application is running normally. What has caused these changes?
