How to Send an Email Over an Authenticated JavaMail Session as a WLDF Notification (Doc ID 1567307.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 11, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

WLDF allows sending notifications in the form of emails (via a JavaMail session). Sending those emails over a plain JavaMail session is straightforward and fully documented. The problem comes when one needs to use an authenticated JavaMail session. As of today, some additional work is required as WLS has no facility to register authenticated JavaMail sessions. This article describes the steps needed to send an email over an authenticated JavaMail session as a WLDF notification.
