" Cannot update file" Error When Applying One-Off With OPatch (Doc ID 1568102.1)

The following error occurs when you are using OPatch to apply a one-off patch to an Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 ( installation:

Jar Action: Destination File

<file_name> does not exists or is not writeable

<package_name>, Cannot update file

This failure may happen in any Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g ( installed home, where oracle_common exists. It may happen with any one-off patch, depending on which files need to be updated. Below is an error stack for an Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control (fmwc) patch:


Prerequisite check "CheckApplicable" failed.
The details are:

Patch 14670290:
Jar Action: Destination File
/sysman/archives/applications/11_1_1_0_0_emcore.war" does not exists or is
not writeable
oracle.sysman.oms.core, Cannot update file
sysman/archives/applications/11_1_1_0_0_emcore.war:emCORE.jar with
Jar Action: Destination File





- Installed Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Release 1 ( or applied Patch Set 6 ( to an existing installation.

- Installed Oracle Forms & Reports 11g Release 2 ( or applied Patch Set 2 ( to an existing installation.
