Symptoms

When trying to invoke a web service through a client using oracle/wss11_saml20_token_with_message_protection_client_policy in OWSM 11.1.1.x, the following error message is observed:

oracle.wsm.common.sdk.WSMException: FailedCheck : failure in security check
Caused by: oracle.wsm.security.policy.scenario.policycompliance.PolicyComplianceException: WSM-00034 : Error in Encryption reference mechanism compliance : Expected : thumbprint , Actual : issuerserial. Ensure that a compatible policy is attached at the client side.

followed by the error:

oracle.wsm.common.sdk.WSMException: WSM-00130 : SAML assertion subject is missing.
