"Can Not Copy Asset:null" Error When Putting A White Space In A Mandatory Field

Symptoms
Having a Flex Definition with a Required Attribute, it is possible to create Assets of this type by typing a blank space in the mandatory field.
When trying to copy this Asset, the following error is shown in 11.1.1.8.0 :
"Cannot copy the asset: Abstract is required field. Asset is not saved. Please make changes and save again. If problem persists please contact system administrator. "
When using WebCenter Sites 11.1.1.6.1 , the error is:
"Cannot copy the asset: null".
