Oracle Internet Directory (OID): Statement of Direction / RoadMap / Upgrade Path / Future Releases for OID (Doc ID 1586183.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 07, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Details

Clarify the direction for using Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g, the next versions, roadmap and support life cycle of OID.

Identity Management (IDM) suite 11gR2 (11.1.2.*) does not include an equivalent version 11.1.2.* for OID.

Oracle's position is that both Oracle Internet Directory (OID) and Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) are strategic. There is no push for OID customers to move to OUD. For new directory deployments customers have the choice of either OID or OUD based on their preference and use case requirements, however Oracle recommends OUD in most scenarios.

OID 12c has been released; reference: Oracle Fusion Middleware 12c Release 2 (12.2) Announcements (Document 2067900.1)

OID features are outlined in the OID documentation, as are OUD features in its documentation. See also respective Release Notes for OID and OUD.

Lifetime Support Policy Premier and Extended Support information is available within the Oracle Lifetime Support Policy Oracle Fusion Middleware. For 11g error correction support dates, see "Error Correction Support Dates for Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g (11.1.1/11.1.2) (Document 1290894.1)".
