Last updated on APRIL 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Forms - Version 11.1.1.7.0 to 12.2.1.0.0 [Release 11g to 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Intermittently, hitting HTTP-500 when calling the reports from Forms:

Error 500--Internal Server Error

Reproducible just with Forms/Reports integration with the following settings:

1) GETJOBID is in use in Forms code to call the report.

2) The in-process reports server is in cluster configuration (High Availability)

and

3) DESFORMAT=PDF

It is intermittent and usually reproduces the first time the report runs from Forms. If it is re-executed, the report will work fine again. The issue never reproduce if the report is executed from rwservlet URL, without Forms integration.

If the tracing is enabled at rwservlet and in-process reports server layers, the rwservlet log displays more specific details:

[2013-09-10T16:13:10.245-04:00] [WLS_REPORTS] [INCIDENT_ERROR] [REP-51015] [oracle.reports.servlet] [tid: 11] [userId: ] [ecid: ] [APP: reports#11.1.1.2.0] [URI: /reports/rwservlet/getjobid1476] REP-51015 : Sending job output to the client failed due to java.net.ProtocolException: Exceeded stated content-length of: '0' bytes.
