Java Applications Leak Memory When JMX Agent Attached (Doc ID 1588585.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 07, 2020

Applies to:

Java SE JDK and JRE - Version 7 to 7 [Release 7]
Oracle WebLogic Server - Version to [Release 12c]
Oracle GlassFish Server - Version 3.1.1 to 3.1.2 [Release 3.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The actual trigger is GC activity. The more GC activity, the higher the leak.

The symptom is a memory leak in the Java heap. A long running application server will eventually run out of memory.

The issue is not reproducible with Java SE 5.0 or 6. Only Java SE 7 is affected.
