The actual trigger is GC activity. The more GC activity, the higher the leak.
Symptoms
The symptom is a memory leak in the Java heap. A long running application server will eventually run out of memory.
Changes
The issue is not reproducible with Java SE 5.0 or 6. Only Java SE 7 is affected.
