Site Capture Icon Is Not Showing Up In Sites UI Due To HTTP Response 404 (Doc ID 1595619.1)

Symptoms

After integrating Site Capture with Sites, the Site Capture application icon is not showing up in Sites UI.

Use a 3rd party tool to monitor the HTTP request/response headers, you will see 404 responses.

For example:

In the above example, Sites is installed on http://sites_hostname:port/cs/ , and Site Capture on http://sc_hostname:port/ .

You can see that Site Capture URLs used by Site Capture's FW_Application are interpreted as relative URLs so they are prepended with Sites URL (http://sites_hostname:port/cs/).

Changes

The issue only occurs when:

 - Site Capture is using a hostname without a dot (.) and

 - Sites and Site Capture are running on different machines.
