Symptoms

On Linux or Solaris, the following error messages have been observed in the Gateway log:

ERROR <TIMESTAMP> [<THREAD ID>] error handling connection: Too many open files. accept failed
ERROR <TIMESTAMP> [<THREAD ID>] error handling connection: Too many open files. accept failed

OR

warning: cannot create interrupt pipe for thread: Too many open files
