Misunderstandings and Documentation Issues Concerning the ODI 11g and 12c XML Driver "dtvc", "dlvc" and "lv" Parameters (Doc ID 1608644.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to generate an Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) 11g or 12c Model from an XML Technology Dataserver set up with the following parameters in the URL:

( as specified in https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/odi/ODIKM/appendix_xml_driver.htm#ODIKM154 )

and a set of Datastores containing varchar (string) columns, with lengths greater than the default value of 255 characters, in order for the database to store payload data coming from the XML instance file of length greater than 255, for example with the following URL:
