Last updated on JANUARY 05, 2024

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

ODI 12c

Are there any changes in ODI 12c as to the steps required to configure external authentication for the Standalone Agent?

ODI 11g

There has been an issue reported when setting up external authentication for ODI Standalone Agent in versions prior to ODI 11.1.1.7.0:

Document 1602223.1 - 'access denied...' Messages Signalled When Launching Standalone Agent When ODI 11g is Configured With External Authentication
unpublished Bug 13255270 - 'ACCESS DENIED...' ERROR WHEN STARING ODI STANDALONE AGENT WITH EXTERNAL AUTHENT

This issue has been fixed in ODI 11.1.1.7.0. This note is to show external authentication for ODI Standalone Agent works fine in ODI 11.1.1.7.0 as is without applying any workaround.

The steps below is an example of how to first set up external authentication for ODI Studio then use the same cwallet.sso and jps-config.xml to set up external authentication for the Standalone Agent.

To see more details steps on how to configure external authentication for ODI Studio refer to Document 1510392.1 - 'How To Configure ODI Studio With External Authentication' and go directly to Step "7. In Topology create a new Physical Agent and link it to a logical Agent."
