Mobile App Fails To Connect To WebCenter Content

Using WebCenter Content 18.104.22.168.0
The iOS mobile app version is 22.214.171.124.0.3 (i47.24.r28464) and is installed on iOs 7.0.4.
When trying to access WebCenter Content on http://wcc-host.domain:16200 from the mobile device, following message is reported:
Unable to connect to server
Please verify your server host and port settings.
Clicking on OK brings the user back to the Sign-in dialog.
