Exalogic virtual creates interface configuration files on vServers that provide an incorrect MTU value for EoIB related interfaces
(Doc ID 1611657.1)
Last updated on NOVEMBER 15, 2022
Applies to:
Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.4.0.2 and later Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
You are running Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software (EECS) in a virtual configuration and have created virtual servers (vServers) via Enterprise Manager OpsCenter Control (EMOC) that have been configured with network interfaces on EoIB networks. However, when you review the interface configuration files created for EoIB related interfaces under /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts, you notice that the MTU value set is 64000 which is much higher than the maximum value of 1500 appropriate for an EoIB interface:
Changes
While such EoIB network interfaces may work in the vServer environment where they were initially created it is possible that further patching to the vServer environment by applying Oracle Quarterly Patchset Updates (PSU) or running "rpm" or "yum" commands to update software packages can cause the interfaces to unexpectedly stop working over time.
