Symptoms

When un-installing a rolling patch (also known as RP) on HP-UX, from a ksh shell, the following error occurs and does not un-install the rolling patch.

$ ./uninstall
./uninstall[79]: syntax error at line 223 : `$FILE$prename' unexpected
